AMF - Future - Chap. 1 by ~Mizumi-sensei:iconMizumi-sensei:

Phanadie Castle, 27th September 2346, Queen’s Bed room.

It was a dark and cold night, around 05:00 AM in the morning. Suddenly a cry was heard through the almost soundless castle, not so soon after that another cry was heard. A woman was lying in bed and looked at the side of her bed; there was standing her husband who was holding their new born babies. It was a twin, the oldest one had brown hair and blue eyes and the other one had blue hair and green eyes. Both looked strong and healthy. The woman smiled a bit and then fell off into a peaceful sleep. The man put both babies inside a small bed were they curled up next to each other, already fast asleep.

Then he turned around to watch his wife, “my sweet Serena” he though. He then looked back at his two new born sons and smiled a little bit. ‘Their so beautiful,’ he mumbled. Serena slowly opened her eyes when she heard him say that. ‘We should name the oldest Home…, and the younger one Tama.’ He looked up when he heard his wife and nodded with his head. ‘I like those names; we should name them like that.’ And with that another generation of Nightwalkers got born.

Phanadie Castle, 27th September 2352, Living room.

Tama was playing in the living room; he was holding a book in his hands but wasn’t really reading it. At the same time Home was playing on the other side of the living room with a ball of energy which he made himself. Their parents weren’t anywhere nearby and they just played without saying anything. ‘Home?’ ‘Yes?’ Home looked up when he heard his younger brother say his name. ‘Did our parents forget our birthday again?’ Tama stared at Home with a sad smile on his face. ‘I guess so…’ Home said slowly, knowing it made his younger brother sad. Tama threw his book through the room which went right through the window. ‘I hate it…it’s the fourth time in a row. We never celebrate our birthday!’ Tama shouted.

Home just stared at the broken window, closed his eyes and within a second he was holding the book. Also the window was fixed again and he turned to face his younger brother. ‘I’m sorry.. I know they forget, but their really busy people.’ Home always tried to talk it right for his parents, but inside he felt the same pain as he saw on Tama’s face. When they both signed at the same time a servant came walking in. ‘Prince Home, Prince Tama.’ The servant made a bow and then looked at the two small boys. ‘Your parents asked for you, I need to take you with me.’ The two boys looked at each other and just shake their head. When they had to come to their parents like this they usually did something wrong or they had to do something again.

‘I hate being a Prince,’ Tama whispered against his older brother while they followed the servant. ‘I know…’ Home answered quickly when the servant looked over his shoulder. They entered a big room which was filled with one big table and lots of seats. ‘Sit down boy,’ the king said to Home. Home quietly said down in front of his dad, while Tama tried to hide behind the servant. The Queen was doing her hair while she looked at her other son. ‘Tama, sit down.’ She said with an almost annoyed voice because the younger boy seemed to be a little uncomfortable. ‘Yes, Miss.’ Tama whispered while he quickly said down next to his brother.

Home looked at the king for a while, wondering why they were asked to come. ‘You two are going to make a journey.’ The King said. ‘Are we?’ Tama asked, but immediately feel quiet again. ‘Why?’ Home asked. ‘Because I say so!’ Both boys shivered and were as quiet as they could be. ‘Darling, just send them away.’ The Queen said annoyed. ‘Of course.’ The King looked at his servant who just nodded his head. Both boys jumped out of their chair, knowing they were supposed to go away again. They slowly followed the servant and felt a bit awkward. ‘Does mom hate us…?’ Tama asked softly. Home just shook his head, afraid that he’d say the wrong thing if he started to talk.

The servant brought them to their rooms and pointed at their suit cases. The moment they both touched their suitcase, a portal opened in front of them and they knew they had to walk through. They grabbed their teddy bears from their bed, got each others hand and slowly walked through the portal. Tama seemed curious, Home just looked like he’d rather blow up someone then to find out where they would end up.

Phanadie Castle, 27th September 203, Hall way.

Tama looked around; the castle seemed empty and dusty. ‘Home? What is this? It looks like the castle…But..’ Home blinked with his eyes while he scanned the castle. He possessed more power on his age then many people had in their whole live so it was easy for him. ‘It is Phanadie Castle…But it’s empty, dusty and well… It seems like it’s a completely different time zone.’ Tama was bouncing up and down. ‘So now what?!’ He wasn’t excited, but nervous as Home could see on his face.
‘It seems, like we are suppose to stay here…’ He said slowly. ‘I don’t want to stay! I want to go ho…’ Tama fell quiet. ‘No, I don’t want to go back.’ Home looked at his younger brother, knowing that he was afraid of his parents which made him say that. ‘Then we’ll stay,’ he said and pulled Tama with him to look around in the castle.

When someone would have seen them walking like that, holding each others hands while dragging their teddy bear around with them, they would think that it would be the cutest thing they’d ever seen. But for them it was normal, they only had each other and their parents seemed to hate them. And now in a castle they know, but at the other side, didn’t know, they seemed rather lost.

‘Tama, calm down!’ Home said when his younger brother started to whine softly. ‘But it’s scary in here, everything is so dark. I don’t like it!!’ Tama screamed, which echoed through the whole hall. He fell quiet right away when he heard the echo; it scared him because Home had said that the castle was empty. ‘I’ll make light then,’ Home whispered softly. And with that, just a soft whisper, candles turned on everywhere inside the castle. Now everything was flashed in a soft and peaceful light. Tama calmed down the moment the candles started to burn. ‘Your amazing, big brother!!’ He said with a typical happy smile of a six year old boy. Home just smiled back at his younger brother, knowing he would still be the one who would take care of him.

When they had been through the whole castle, which took hours, they ended up in the kitchen. ‘Are you hungry?’ Home asked his younger brother. Tama was looking around in the big kitchen, curious because he had never seen that. ‘Yes, I am.’ He said. Home knew there wouldn’t be any food inside the castle and as a six year old, he really wouldn’t be able to get money. ‘Well, I’ll see what I can do then.’ Home was glad he was really good with magic and within a few minutes he got diner on the table for himself and his younger brother.

Eventually when Tama had almost fallen asleep at the table, Home jumped off his chair. ‘Come on, I’m sure we can found one big bed to sleep in.’ from the moment they were born they hadn’t been able to be kept apart. Tama got scary when Home wasn’t close to him and they always shared a room together, so for him it was normal to get a room for them both. Tama got up and made sure he was awake enough to follow his brother through the castle. They got on the first floor and the first thing they noticed was a really big door. Home pushed it open with his hand while he was still holding the teddy bear with it. Tama walked in, he also had his teddy bear in his hand but felt save enough to let go of his brother’s hand.

They looked around in the room which had two big dressing rooms, a bathroom right next to it, a spear room, one huge bed where there could easily fit in 4 grown up people and a lot of other things. ‘I want to have this room!’ Tama said with a happy tone in his voice. ‘Sure, if you want to.’ Home closed his eyes and not soon after that, both of their suitcases were standing next to him. He unpacked them both and put everything inside one closet, since it wouldn’t matter anyway.

He put on his pyjama’s, got his teddy bear and sat down on the bed. ‘Come on Tama, your tired.’ He said to his younger brother. ‘Coming!’ And with a fling of his hand, Tama was also wearing his pyjama. He also grabbed his teddy bear back onto his hands and crawled on the other side of the bed. The moment they had themselves curled up on the bed, they fell asleep.

Phanadie Castle, 28th September 203, Princes Bed room.

Tama was slowly waking up, he held his teddy bear very close and was thinking about where he was. When he eventually was awake enough to open his eyes, he looked around. The moment he didn’t saw Home in the room, he started to panic. ‘Home? Where are you?!’ He yelled. Home appeared in the room the moment he heard his brother say his name. ‘What’s wrong?’ He asked. ‘You were gone!’ Yelled Tama, as if that explained why he was so upset. Home knew his younger brother good enough to know that he would calm down now he was in the room. ‘It’s okay, I was just busy with the castle. If we are going to live here then we should make it good enough to stay in, right?’ Tama started to smile and nodded with his head.

And so the six year old boys started to deal with the castle, they cleaned the whole thing up and made it good enough to live in. ‘Really big brother, your so good with magic!’ ‘You’re just saying that because you don’t have the same magic as me.’ Home answered back. ‘Maybe…’ Within a few hours they were done with the whole castle and they looked at it while they are standing outside. ‘You know, Tama…Maybe we should re-name the castle. Because now, it’s ours.’ ‘And what name would you give it then?’ Tama asked curious while he looked up at his brother. ‘Nightwalker Castle! Because you know, we ARE Nightwalkers.’ Home said with a smile. And so, the Castle was now known as the Nightwalker Castle.

Nightwalker Castle, 27th September 211, Kitchen.

‘You know Home, it’s our birthday.’ Tama said while he was busy with making breakfast. ‘I know that,’ his brother reacted while he was filling in some papers. This was the first time in all those years that they were talking about the fact that it was their birthday. Home hated it, because it reminded him of their parents and how they always forget them. Now, years later he had learned to not show his feelings accept for Tama and he never talked about their parents or their birthday. ‘I really want to celebrate it today.’ Home knew he couldn’t say no to his younger brother so he started to smile and agreed with him. For the first time in many years, they celebrated their birthday together and were actually happy about it.
