Nightwalker Castle, 31st December 211, Hall way.

There was a bright flash in the hall way, like there opened a portal. Soon after that the flash was gone again but, there was something different about the hall way. What had changed? Suddenly a soft cry was heard, almost like it was a baby. How would a baby get inside Nightwalker Castle? Only Tama and Home, the 13 year old twin brothers lived there. But again you could hear a soft cry go through the hall ways and not soon after that a small baby girl started crying.

Nightwalker Castle, 31st December 211, Living room.

Tama looked up; he had been playing a game with Home and got distracted. ‘Home…is it just me or do I really hear a baby crying?’ ‘What? A baby?’ Home frowned, looked up and listened very carefully. Now he heard it too, it really was a baby! ‘Really Tama, if this is a joke from you, then it isn’t funny!’ Home said. ‘I swear I’m not doing anything!’ Both boys got up, left their game behind and softly walked through the door. After a while they ended up in the Hall way and what they found there was a big shock for both.

Nightwalker Castle, 31st December 211, Hall way.

A small baby girl was lying on the floor with only a blanket wrapped around her, on her chest was a note and she opened her big blue eyes. She babbled something when she saw the twin standing and reached her hands out to them. Home took the note while Tama picked up the small baby. ‘What does the note say?’ Home stared at it for a while and then passed it on to Tama.

This is your new baby sister Mineko, she just got born a few hours ago and now she’s your responsibility.

Tama and Home stared at each other and then looked down at the little baby. Mineko had big blue eyes, black hair and looked really small and cute. For a while they were just standing there, looking at the baby and wondering what to do next. ‘I don’t even know how to take care of a baby,’ Tama said softly. ‘Well neither do I, but we’ll take of her no matter what it takes.’ Tama stared at his brother and smiled. ‘With you around me, I’m sure we’ll be fine.’ And so it happened, the twin decided to keep their little sister and got her the things she needed.

Nightwalker Castle, 1 January 212, Princes Bed room.

Home woke up because of the cries he heard; he slowly opened his eyes and poked Tama in his side. ‘Stop making those noises,’ he whispered sleepy. Tama blinked and got up while he looked at his older brother. ‘I’m not even the one who makes those noises.’ At the same moment Mineko really started to cry. Home was wide awake right after he heard her cry; he jumped out of his bed and picked her up. ‘Shh, it’s okay.’ He said softly while he held her close against his chest. Tama also got up at the other side of the bed and walked to his brother. ‘Maybe she’s hungry?’ He asked.

And with the idea that their little baby sister might be hungry they went downstairs. Tama was standing in the middle of the kitchen and stared at his brother and Mineko. ‘Home…? What do babies eat?’ ‘A bottle of milk!’ ‘Right, a bottle of milk…’ Tama said softly while he looked around again. ‘Really, do I have to do everything myself?’ Home asked while he gave his little baby sister to Tama. ‘Well I’m sorry! I’m only 13 years old and not supposed to take care of a little baby!’ Tama said a bit angry. ‘I have the same age smartass.’ Home said a bit annoyed while he made a bottle of milk.

Mineko was making little sounds while she put Tama his finger in her mouth. She was sucking at it while she looked up at her brother with her big blue eyes. Tama started to smile when he saw her like that and held her closer against him. ‘She really is cute you know.’ He said while he held her still. ‘I know she is,’ Home said while he gave the bottle of milk to Tama. ‘Now just sit down and give her the bottle of milk before she starts crying again.’ Tama said down at the table, held Mineko on his arm while he had the bottle of milk in his other hand. ‘I hope this works…’ He tried to put the bottle in her mouth, but she started to cry right away.

Home had been staring at it for a while because he knew Tama had to learn it also. But when Mineko really started to cry louder he put her in his arms and gave her the bottle of milk. She calmed down right away, closed her eyes and sucked on the bottle. Tama blinked with his eyes and stared at Home who seemed to do it all the right way. ‘Why does it work for you?’ He asked his brother. ‘I don’t know, I’m already glad she’s quiet. I really wouldn’t know what else to do if she’d start crying after this.’ Tama frowned and looked at his cute baby sister. ‘If she does start crying, she might need a change.’ Home just nodded while he put Mineko against his shoulder after she was done with the bottle.

‘Well at least one of us can give her a bottle without spilling it all or making her cry.’ Tama said while they walked to the living room. ‘That’s true…now only we need to learn all the other things.’ Home said with a soft sign. ‘I don’t know if we can do this.’ Tama blinked and looked at his brother. ‘You said we can, so I really believe we can!’ He said while he sat down on the couch and put Mineko in his arms. Home looked down at his little brother and baby sister. ‘You’re probably right.’ He sat down on a chair and looked at the game that was still laying there. ‘You think we’ll ever finish that game?’ He asked with a laugh. Tama just shook his head and smiled.

Nightwalker castle, 31st December 214.

Tama was looking around in the living room, frowned and turned around to walk out of it again. Then he heard a soft giggle and started to smile. ‘Mineko, I can hear you!’ He said. ‘No, you can’t!!’ A small 3 year old girl popped out from underneath the big couch. ‘Well, come on. Or Home will eat your cake!’ ‘NOOOOOOOOOOOO! Home you can’t eat my cake!’ Mineko said while she ran to the kitchen. When she got there she jumped in Home his arms and looked excited at him. ‘Almost done,’ Home said while he catches her in his arms.

‘I can’t wait!!’ She said while she jumped out of his arms again. She ran through the kitchen and almost made Tama fall over. She giggled and kept running until she ended up at her own chair. She jumped on top of it and sat down. ‘So, now I want to have cake!!’ Tama and Home smiled at their little sister. ‘Can’t believe she’s already 3 years old.’ Tama said. ‘Can’t believe we survived for such a long time!’ Home said with a laugh. She stared at both of her brothers and then smiled. Her big blue eyes were focused on them and she really looked cute. Both of her brothers had a hard timing saying no to her and she knew it.

A few minutes later Home put down the cake on the table. After that he put 3 small candles on it and lit them on with fire that came from his finger. Mineko stared at it with big eyes, she loved it when her brothers did magic. ‘Can I blow them out? Please?’ She asked while she looked at Tama with her big blue eyes. ‘Just a minute,’ he said. Home sat down next to her and looked at her side ways. “I wonder how long it’ll take before she’ll actually ask us where her parents are.” He though while he sighed. Tama sat down on the other side of the table and looked right into Home his eyes. Just like that, they both knew what the other was thinking and they smiled.

‘I don’t want to wait!’ Mineko whined while she looked at her two brothers. ‘Well you can blow them out now,’ Tama said. She took a deep breath and blew all three of the candles out but she also blew have of the cake away. Tama and Home both blinked with their eyes while they stared at the cake which now was lying all over the table. Mineko stared at it also; completely surprised she could do that. ‘I think…We’ve just found out what your element is,’ Tama said with a laugh. ‘Element?’ Mineko asked very curious. ‘Yes,’ Home said and started to explain to his little sister what it was.

When she had heard it all a huge grin was on her small face and she jumped off her chair. ‘I don’t want to eat cake anymore! I want to play!’ And with that she ran off. Both boys looked at each other, knowing this wouldn’t end in a good way. They sighed, got up and followed their little sister outside. Mineko took a very deep breath and then blew against a tree. Tama was staring at the tree, but nothing happened… At least he though that nothing would happen. Within a few seconds the whole tree fell over and in the lake. Home blinked with his eyes, closed them and opened them again. ‘I actually feel sorry for the tree,’ Tama said laughing. ‘I feel sorry for us!’ Home mumbled back.
